Father & Son Trip to Mt. Shasta Ski Park

Fresh snow and blue skies can only mean one thing...

Mt. Shasta Ski Park! So, today we are off for a snow adventure. From Redding the drive is just over one hour North on I-5. Mt Shasta Ski Park is a popular destination for skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and just hanging out watching the slopes. The park has 3 lifts and a 300 foot hill for tubing bringing smiles and excitement to anyone's day. My recommendation is to get there early, stop in for a burger and beer at Ray's for lunch, and ski till you drop! The park also offers backcountry cabins that can be reserved online to enjoy the stillness of the Mt. Shasta's wilderness and snow beyond the resort.

Plan ahead:

You need to pre-purchase tickets online in advance for weekends. Parking lot opens at 7am. Slopes are open 9am-4pm Sun.-Thurs. and 9am-5pm Sat. & Sun. Don't forget your sunscreen!

Fun fact:

Mt. Shasta is the second tallest peak in the Cascades at 14,180 feet tall. It last erupted in 1786!
